On the afternoon of April 9th, Liaoning “One Belt, One Road” Cultural Exchange and Language Industry School-Enterprise Alliance 2018 Priority Promotion Meeting was held in Dalian University of Foreign Languages (DUFL). Liu Hong, President of the Alliance and President of DUFL, attended the meeting and delivered her remarks. Also present at the meeting were the leading universities and enterprises in the Alliance as well as the heads of relevant departments and schools of DUFL.

President Liu Hong pointed out in her remarks that the 2018 Priority Promotion Meeting is held while Liaoning province is thoroughly studying and implementingXi Jinping’s new socialist ideology with Chinese characteristics, fully implementing the spirit of the 19^th National Congress of CPC and that of the 2nd and the 3rd Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee, advancing the “Five Regional Development Strategies” and accelerating the construction of “One Belt, Five Bases”. The meeting is also a concrete action promptly taken by the Alliance in response to the calls of the “Two Sessions” and those of the 7th Plenary Session of the 12th CPC Provincial Committee. She stressed that the Alliance should seize the golden opportunity brought by a new round of reform and opening up on both national and provincial levels, actively integrate into Liaoning’s economic development in combination with “One Belt, One Road” “Chinese Culture Going Out” and constructing discourse system with Chinese characteristics and carry out school-enterprise cooperation in personnel training, scientific research, discipline construction and social service.

President Liu Hong said that DUFL, as the leader of the Alliance, should take the initiative to establish the concept of serving the national strategy and regional socio-economic development and to take the construction of the School-Enterprise Alliance as an important grope and platform to further promote the transformation of DUFL into a high-level applied foreign language university. At the same time, she hoped that all the departments and schools in DUFL should take the initiative to go out, strengthen exchanges, break the barriers between schools and disciplines, fully connect with enterprises, actively organize teachers to conduct in-depth research and practice in enterprises, strengthen innovation awareness and concepts, and make greater contributions to the revitalization and development of Liaoning’s economy. With the support of all its students and staff, DUFL will continue to promote the construction of the Alliance. Together with other members of the Alliance, we will jointly build the “One Belt, One Road” Cultural Exchange and Language Industry School- Enterprise Alliance.

At the meeting, the leading universities in the Alliance made briefings on the progress in their respective work. The meeting has clarified the division of responsibilities, refined the implementation of tasks, and made concerted efforts to ensure that the eight priority tasks of 2018 will be carried forward as planned.
