Our school held an online communication meeting with Royal Buddhist University of Thailand


On the afternoon of September 27th, our school held an online communication meeting with Royal Buddhist University of Thailand. President Willa Bingo, Vice President for Foreign Affairs Suweimeng McWippen, Vice President for Academic Affairs Chai Yu Manila and vice President jiang Fengchun of our school attended the meeting. Leaders of academic Affairs Office, Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, School of Asian-African Languages, School of Chinese and other related departments also attended the meeting.




Vice President Jiang Fengchun first conveyed president Liu Hong's sincere greetings to President Willa Bingo and the participants. He made a detailed introduction to the Thai participants from the aspects of the history of the founding of our school, the specialty setting and the characteristics of international education. He said that since its establishment, the university has attached great importance to international exchanges and cooperation, and has established exchange and cooperation programs with more than 220 universities and colleges in more than 30 countries. Thailand is a friendly neighbor of China. The friendship between the people of China and Thailand goes back to ancient times. Our university hopes very much to carry out cooperation and exchanges with Universities in Thailand. In recent years, our school has successively opened a variety of majors in non-common languages including Thai. He expressed the hope to carry out exchanges and cooperation with Royal Buddhist University of Thailand in the construction of Thai majors, personnel training, exchanges between teachers and students, study in China and other aspects.


Willa Bingo, president of Royal Buddhist University of Thailand, was delighted that the two universities could hold an online communication meeting to discuss cooperation between the two universities. He introduced the general situation of major construction, talent cultivation and international exchanges of royal University of Buddhist through the promotional video of the university, and expressed his great hope to establish friendly cooperative relations with foreign universities and carry out long-term and short-term student exchange programs. He hoped that after the outbreak ends at an early date, the two sides can conduct more extensive and rich offline exchanges and visits.


The Thai side also introduced in detail the international courses of Thai language, Chinese language, business English and international tourism of royal University of Buddhists, as well as the "3+1" and "2+2" joint training programs and internship programs. The School of Asian-African Languages and the School of Chinese gave a detailed introduction on the construction of Thai major in our university and the situation of studying in China. The two sides further conducted in-depth consultations on teacher-student exchanges, scientific research cooperation and signing of cooperation agreements, and reached preliminary consensus.
