On the afternoon of September 4, our school held an online new semester work deployment meeting. The meeting notified the online teaching and registration of new students in the new semester, the school's recent epidemic prevention and control work, and made arrangements for the key tasks of the new semester. Members of the school leadership team and leading cadres above the deputy division level attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Vice President Jiang Fengchun, Party Secretary Wang Weichen and President Liu Hong attended the meeting and delivered speeches.
At the meeting, the heads of the Party and Government Office, the Office of Academic Affairs, the Office of Students, the Office of Graduate Studies, and the School of Chinese Studies discussed the epidemic prevention and control work in the new semester, the education and teaching arrangements for undergraduates, the online reports for new students and the work of admission education, postgraduate teaching arrangements, International students studying abroad and other aspects were notified. Vice-principals Jiang Fengchun, Cong Mingcai, Chang Junyue, Secretary of the Disciplinary Committee Zhang Xiaochen, Party Committee Standing Committee Member and Head of the United Front Work Department of the Party Committee Li Yan, and Party Committee Standing Committee Member and Head of the Party Committee Propaganda Department Zhang Jiao respectively notified the school's "14th Five-Year Plan" and the work plan at the beginning of the year.
Principal Liu Hong fully affirmed the arrangement of the key work of the new semester by relevant functional departments and school leaders, and made overall arrangements for the work of this semester from three aspects. First, we must strengthen learning and continuously update education and teaching concepts. Second, we must innovate thinking and systematically promote the construction of the school's Northeast Asian regional characteristics. Party Secretary Wang Weichen made a concluding speech. He emphasized that this meeting is not only a work deployment meeting, but also an ideological mobilization meeting, and a responsibility implementation meeting. Regarding the work in the new semester, Secretary Wang put forward five requirements. The meeting emphasized that 2022 is the year of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and the school will also hold the second party congress after the name change.
