The 8th Dalian Forum on the Overseas Communication of Chinese Culture and the 2nd Northeast Asia Civilization Dialogue Forum held in our University


On May 25, the 8th Dalian Forum on Overseas Communication of Chinese Culture and the 2nd Northeast Asia Civilization Dialogue Forum, hosted by Dalian University of Foreign Languages, the International Communication Committee of China Journalism History Society and the Huaxia Communication Research Society, was held in Chengzhi Building.

















Centering on the theme of "Chinese Modernization and New Forms of human Civilization from the perspective of International Communication", nearly 100 experts and scholars from home and abroad engaged in the overseas communication of Chinese culture conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges on the overseas communication strategies of Chinese culture, the history and current situation of Northeast Asian civilization, and cultural exchange and cooperation mechanisms.


At the opening ceremony of the forum, Wang Weichen, Secretary of the Party Committee of the University of Foreign Languages, delivered a welcome speech. He introduced the achievements made by the University in its continuous progress towards the goal of fully building a high-level applied foreign language university with distinctive characteristics in Northeast Asia. Bai Wengang, Vice President of Huaxia Communication Research Association, Professor of Communication University of China and Vice Dean of School of Government and Public Affairs, delivered a speech on behalf of the forum organizers. Professor Zhang Guoqiang, Vice President of the University, presided over the opening ceremony.


At this forum, China Daily website, the University's Research Center for Overseas Communication of Chinese Culture and the School of Journalism and Communication jointly released the "Top Ten Cases of International Communication of Chinese Culture in 2023-2024". Tang Runhua, distinguished professor at University of Foreign Studies and chief researcher of the Research Center for Overseas Communication of Chinese Culture, and Feng Minghui, editor-in-chief of the English Culture Department of China Daily Website, jointly announced the results of the selection


At the closing ceremony, the winners of this year's outstanding papers were announced. Bai Wengang's "Chinese Modernization and Image Reconstruction of Chinese Civilization from the Perspective of Civilization Communication" and Zhang Aijun and Tang Xinyu's "Innovative Strategies to bridge the" Double Mirror "of Chinese Stories from the perspective of Empathy Narrative" won the first, second and third prizes respectively. The author of the winning paper entered the academic sharing.

Professor Zhang Hengjun, Dean of the School of Journalism and Communication and Dean of the Institute of International Communication, made a summary of the forum. Cai Fuyao, executive director of the Research Center for Overseas Communication of Chinese Culture at University of Foreign Studies, presided over the closing ceremony. (Zhang Hengjun)
