President Yury Marfin of Pacific National University Visits Dalian University of Foreign Languages

On April 23, a delegation led by President Yury Marfin of Pacific National University (Russia) visited Dalian University of Foreign Languages (DUFL), where they were received by President Cong Mingcai. The meeting was also attended by heads of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, School of Russian Studies, and College of Chinese Studies.





President Cong Mingcai provided a comprehensive introduction to DUFL's history, academic programs, faculty development, talent cultivation, and internationalization features. He noted that as long-term partners, DUFL and Pacific National University have been committed to advancing Sino-Russian educational cooperation. With strong alignment in talent cultivation and cultural exchange, the two universities have broad prospects for collaboration. President Cong expressed hope to further deepen practical cooperation, leverage complementary academic strengths, and jointly cultivate high-level interdisciplinary talents with global vision and innovative capabilities.

President Yury Marfin introduced Pacific National University's educational features, talent cultivation, and academic programs, expressing strong expectations for multi-faceted cooperation with DUFL. As a key comprehensive university in Russia's Far East, Pacific National University is actively responding to the call for deepening Sino-Russian collaboration, focusing on cultivating high-level professionals proficient in Chinese. Recognizing DUFL's outstanding achievements in language education, President Marfin hoped both institutions could conduct deeper exchanges leveraging their respective academic strengths.

During the meeting, the two sides held in-depth discussions and reached multiple agreements regarding joint student cultivation programs, the "foreign language + major" interdisciplinary talent cultivation model, and overseas internship opportunities. President Marfin's delegation also toured the campus facilities, visited teaching facilities at the College of Chinese Studies, and held discussions at the Russian Center. (By Zhang Yawen)
