On the morning of July 14, the opening ceremony of the 2025 Summer Training Program for State-Sponsored Overseas Students, organized by the China Scholarship Council and hosted by the Overseas Study Training Department of our university, was held on campus. Vice President Zhao Yong attended and delivered a welcome speech, along with representatives from relevant departments and colleges, as well as trainees from universities across the country.

In his address, Vice President Zhao Yong emphasized that the university will leverage its strengths—including its nationally recognized first-class programs in Russian and Japanese, its exemplary disciplines, outstanding faculty, and well-structured curriculum—to ensure the successful completion of the training. He encouraged participants to seize this learning opportunity, improve their skills, and enhance their overall competence, so they may contribute to the nation’s development and the great cause of national rejuvenation upon their return.
Zhu Hui, a faculty member from the School of Russian Studies, and Koichi Kawauchi, a foreign lecturer from the School of Japanese Studies, spoke as representatives of the teaching staff. They urged trainees to diligently improve their language proficiency, broaden their knowledge, and master the language and culture of their target countries, striving to become interdisciplinary talents with both linguistic expertise and professional competence.
Tian Fei from Hexi University, speaking on behalf of the trainees, expressed a deep sense of responsibility as a state-sponsored student. She called on her peers to showcase the image of Chinese youth in the new era to the world and contribute to the modernization of China.
This year marks the tenth consecutive year that our university has been entrusted by the China Scholarship Council to conduct the summer training program. Aligning with national strategic needs, the university will meticulously design and implement the program to fulfill its mission of preparing high-level, internationalized, and interdisciplinary talents with both professional and language skills for their studies abroad.
