Recently, the opening ceremony for international students was held in the lecture hall of the library. Vice President Zhao Yong attended and delivered a speech. Also present were the party and administrative leadership of the College of Chinese Studies, all faculty and staff, and all international students. This year, the university has welcomed over 230 new students from 33 countries around the world. Together, they embark on a new journey to pursue their dreams, injecting strong momentum into further promoting multicultural exchange and building an internationalized campus.


Qing Man from Russia, speaking as a representative of the new students, shared that she had previously studied at the university for a short-term program in 2022 and has now returned to pursue a master's degree. She expressed her hope to devote herself to education in the future, enabling more people to learn about China and understand DUFL through the Chinese language. Olivia from Belarus, speaking as a representative of current students, mentioned that DUFL boasts a rich cultural atmosphere and advantages in cross-cultural communication. She encouraged new students to cherish their time in class, take every language practice seriously, actively participate in cultural exchange activities, expand their extracurricular knowledge, enjoy campus life, and experience the beauty of DUFL.
Wang Jing, a faculty representative from the College of Chinese Studies, encouraged the new students to cherish every "first" at DUFL. She hopes that all new students will not only master professional knowledge but also make friends from around the world, broaden their horizons, and transform the friendships built on campus into valuable assets for future connections between China and other countries.副校长赵勇
In his address, Vice President Zhao Yong reviewed the university’s development and achievements in international exchange since its establishment. He encouraged new students to make full use of the university’s abundant educational resources and practical activities, combine language learning with cultural experiences, continuously expand their global perspectives, form cross-cultural friendships, and grow into international talents with both professional competence and a sense of responsibility, contributing to Sino-foreign exchanges and global development.
Officers Zhao Dongzhe and Han Feng from the Exit-Entry Administration Division of the Dalian Municipal Public Security Bureau attended the ceremony as guests. They conducted a special session on Chinese laws and regulations for the international students present, hoping to help them gain a more comprehensive and in-depth understanding of China’s legal system and relevant regulations, thereby further enhancing their legal awareness and concept of the rule of law.
