Recently, the 2025 "SFLEP Cup" Liaoning Provincial College Foreign Language Teaching Contest (College English Category) and the Liaoning Regional Competition of the 16th National College Foreign Language Teaching Contest concluded. Jiang Huiling and Han Dan, teachers from the College English Department of our university, won the second prize in the Comprehensive Course category and the second prize in the Audio-Visual-Speaking Course category, respectively.

The competition was jointly organized by the Liaoning Provincial Department of Education, the Liaoning Provincial Guidance Committee for Foreign Languages and Literatures in Higher Education, and Shanghai Foreign Language Education Press. This year's contest, themed "Communicating China, Leading the Future," focused on the College English teaching competition, with two categories: Comprehensive English and Audio-Visual-Speaking English. A total of 92 contestants from 56 universities across the province advanced to the semifinals through preliminary selections. After evaluations by expert judges in the sub-competition areas, 18 contestants progressed to the finals of the Comprehensive Course category, and 14 advanced to the finals of the Audio-Visual-Speaking Course category. The finals included a 10-minute teaching demonstration and a 5-minute Q&A session with the judges, requiring participants not only to demonstrate their teaching process but also to articulate their understanding of teaching, their grasp of teaching theories, and their ability to integrate theory with practice. Jiang Huiling and Han Dan performed exceptionally in the finals, leveraging their solid language skills, fluent teaching design, and strong psychological resilience, ultimately securing second prizes in their respective categories.
The university will further encourage and guide teachers to continue dedicating themselves to teaching research, implementing the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, and contributing the wisdom and strength of Dalian University of Foreign Languages to cultivating a new generation capable of undertaking the mission of national rejuvenation.
