On the afternoon of January 9, a delegation consisting of Xu Yongji, Deputy Secretary-General of the International Confucian Association and Director of the Membership Liaison Committee; Li Huanmei, Deputy Director; and Professor Wen Haiming from Renmin University of China visited our university for research and exchange. President Cong Mingcai and Vice President Liu Fengguang met with the delegation and held discussions. Relevant personnel from the International Exchange and Cooperation Office and the Confucius Institute Office participated in the activities.

During the discussion, Vice President Liu Fengguang highlighted the development achievements of the 10 Confucius Institutes and one online Chinese classroom established by our university overseas, particularly the outcomes of Confucius Institute initiatives in promoting humanities cooperation in Latin America and Northeast Asia. She stated that the university has long been committed to leveraging the Confucius Institute platform to advance the international dissemination of outstanding traditional Chinese culture and will further strengthen the integration and development of regional and country studies with cultural exchange mechanisms during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period. She expressed hope for deepening cooperation between our university and the International Confucian Association to jointly explore new pathways for the dissemination of Confucianism and cultural mutual learning.
Deputy Secretary-General Xu Yongji acknowledged the contributions of our university in the development of Confucius Institutes, international Chinese language education, and the dissemination of Chinese culture. He emphasized that the International Confucian Association attaches great importance to membership development, focusing on filling gaps in member countries and actively recruiting outstanding young and middle-aged scholars in traditional cultural research, dissemination, and regional and country studies from universities, while cultivating overseas young scholars and sinologists. He noted that Confucianism is an important component of traditional Chinese culture, and its international dissemination requires collaborative efforts from universities, research institutions, and academic organizations. The International Confucian Association is willing to strengthen resource sharing and project cooperation with Dalian University of Foreign Languages, jointly cultivate high-level communication talents, build high-level academic dialogue platforms, and further promote the effective dissemination and in-depth exchange of Confucianism and other traditional Chinese cultures worldwide.
The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on topics such as mechanisms for attracting outstanding Confucianism and sinology research scholars, cooperation in youth scholar training programs, and the development of cultural dissemination and exchange platforms.
As an international academic and cultural joint organization, the International Confucian Association brings together nearly a thousand academic groups and experts from 133 countries and regions across five continents, all related to Confucianism and traditional cultural research. This research visit further clarified the cooperation path of complementary strengths and resource sharing between the two sides, deepened mutual understanding and consensus on cooperation, and laid a significant step toward jointly promoting the international dissemination of outstanding traditional Chinese culture and facilitating exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations.
