On March 19, President Cong Mingcai and Vice President Liu Fengguang met with a delegation led by Stepan Bykov, Vice President of Irkutsk National Research Technical University of Russia (hereinafter referred to as "INRTU"), who visited our university.




President Cong Mingcai introduced the history, disciplinary layout, talent training system and international characteristics of Dalian University of Foreign Languages. He noted that our university has a solid foundation for exchanges and cooperation with Russian universities. As a key national research university under construction in the Russian Federation, INRTU is at the international forefront in science and engineering disciplines, and the disciplinary strengths of the two universities are highly complementary. The two sides have carried out multiple exchanges and visits, achieving remarkable results in student exchanges, dual-degree joint training and other fields. Looking ahead, he expressed hope that both sides will further deepen cooperation, expand cooperative areas, and jointly elevate bilateral exchanges and cooperation to a new level.
Vice President Bykov introduced the educational positioning, research strength and international cooperation achievements of INRTU. He pointed out that people-to-people and scientific-technological exchanges between China and Russia have been deepening continuously, and Russia is in urgent need of interdisciplinary professionals proficient in Chinese. DUFL boasts profound experience in international Chinese education and educational cooperation with Russia. He expected the two sides to carry out practical cooperation in joint training, academic exchanges, Sino-foreign cooperative education and other fields based on their respective disciplinary strengths.
During the visit, the INRTU delegation held symposiums with the School of Russian Studies, School of Software Engineering and School of Chinese Studies of our university. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on dual-degree programs, Sino-foreign cooperative education projects, student and faculty exchanges, short-term study tours and other matters, and reached a number of cooperation consensuses. Vice President Bykov and his entourage also toured the campus and attended a meeting with international students from the School of Chinese Studies.
